Welcome

Sequoia saxophone was born from a dream, an intuition and the great passion of Roberto Buttus, owner of the homonym workshop, who after a long experience of wind instruments repair, has decided to "put himself in the front-line" by creating an original instrument closer both to professional musicans'requirements and to beginners equally moved by the beauty of music.

Alessandro comments his Tenor Booster Sequoia:

For many years my musical research has been based on the Pedagogy of Saxophone. The excellent ergonomics and homogeneous focus make the Sequoia saxophones the right choice for those who approach to play this amazing instrument. Responsivess and richness on overtones give the opportunity also to "young" players to obtain a personal and unique sound!

S.O.S. Orchestra

photo-92 2 SOS ORCHESTRA 2A hot summer night last 2010, a relaxing dinner at Roberto's home with some friends and musicians from Slovenia and Croatia when suddenly a flash in the eyes: "Why don't we put together our instrumens, our skills, the pleasure of staying together and create a small orchestra or better a workshop of ideas where anyone can test and put at disposal for other people hiw own way of "being an artist?" That's it! The S.O.S Orchestra was born!

The new and brave project takes shape and in June 2011 at Kulturni Dom in Nova Gorica (Slovenia) the first concert takes place.

An amazing success! The first of many others ... and magic is in each member of the Orchestra capable of join together their own skills to give life to unique emotions.

They confirm the motto: "when differece becomes richness".

Angelo Chiocca

111 SIP phMassimoGoina CHIOCCA 2 OKANGELO CHIOCCA is a lively and volcanic italian artist. He is able to "fill" any place with his ravishing presence. He is a real "tsunami" of blues music, a polyedric artist with a "black soul".

Further to a period of active cooperation with the Model "T" Band, a group from Milan, a reference for the Italian blues, Angelo takes the decision of going back to Trieste where he joins the B.L.U.E.S. ETC. BAND of Mike Sponza. Together with him he starts a 10-year-journey around Europe by exhibiting in clubs and prestigious competitions.

Angelo anyway is an artist in constant movement and always looking for something more so together with his friend Tomi Puric they give life to the BLUEANGEL GANG and later the S.I.P BAND, a band playing a repertoire of funky, disco '70. Moreover the band is proud of cooperating together with musicians such as James Thompson, Al Castellana, Leroy Emmanuel, Eddie "CAT" Catalini.

Angelo comments his Sequoia Tenor Red Booster:

I have chosen the Red Booster for its amazing ergonomy, its focused and powerful sound, its responsiveness and why not ... a ravishing look! I think for people like me who work with brass sections, the Red Booster is the right sax since its power does not let it down against the brasses, and i does not need an excessive amount of air to be heard. With my setup I get a rich and cutting sound. If payed with a hard rubber mouthpiece you may get a warmer and mellower sound. I would say.. an all-round sax!!!

Listen to Angelo and his enthusiasm together with the S.I.P. BAND

.... here with James Thompson in "Night Train" ..... amazing!

How Fabrizio tells his Sequoia Saxophones:

As soon as I tried the saxophones Sequoia, I immediately realised the great quality of this project. A timbre full of overtones, highly sharp in intonation together with an ergonomic and fluent mechanics. The Tenor Lemon (Unlacquered) has wide and powerful sound, a hardy and solid low register but spontaneous in blowing at the same time. The Soprano Lemon (Unlacquered) is the instrument that mostly captured my attention: it keeps a great tuneful richness and depth on all register with a peculiar and personal voice. The sound never sharpens even on high register where the sound often impoverishes in overtones and volume. It has great focus and timbre flexibility, I would advice it to anyone.

Follow Fabrizio in his review, including an audio/video clip, introducing the Sequoia Tenor (Unlacquered) and Soprano Lemon (Unlacquered):

Andrea Innesto

andrea innesto SITOANDREA INNESTO an Italian saxophone player, a versatile and polyedric musician.

Music has always been basic part of his life. Since a little child his approach to the saxophone has been a way to express his creativity and originality.

He is a day dreamer, a visionary man, to him the word "music" simply means "passion" because: "
Charming, extravagant and unique in his uniqueness, Andrea has great charisma. It's impossible not being raptured by it.
"The saxophone Sequoia Booster the model I played also during Vasco Rossi Live Tour 2011 (Live Kom 011) has special features.
Though played in pop-rock, it is a versatile instrument with wide sound and dynamic range. As its name says "booster" means that it has more personality and more volume. It is flexible and adapts to also other genres. It is an instrument of top quality compared to the sale price. Moreover it is made by an artisan Roberto Buttus who is a friend of mine.
I am very proud of playing a top quality Italian item with a top professional level.
