Alessandro Leo
ALESSANDRO LEO is an Italian saxophonist constantly engaged in saxophone pedagogy. After graduating with honours from the "N. Rota" Conservatory of Music in Monopoli (BA), he trained further with world-renowned musicians and focused his attention on teaching the saxophone.
He collaborates with several music schools:
Scuola musicale d'Istrana (TV); H-Demia Fonderia per lo Spettacolo (TV); Avdance Box Studios School Preganziol (TV); Cantieri Musicali di Montebelluna (TV).
He supported the "Mousikè" Centre for Musical Activity and Training in Martina Franca (TA) in promoting and organising events, seminars and masterclasses with internationally renowned artists such as: Rosario Giuliani, Alfredo Paixao, Daniele Dibonaventura, Javier Girotto, Franco Fussi, Angelo Curri, Sergio Bellotti, Horacio Hernandez, Israel Varela, Luca Pitteri, Massimo Mazzoni, Fabrizio Meloni, Andrea Conti, Gianni Branca, Massimo Moriconi, Giuseppe Ettorre, Lele Melotti, Paolo Costa, Vincenzo Maurogiovanni, Fabrizio Bosso, Vittorio Matteucci.
He wrote the musical preface for the book "Epifanie Baritonali" by Antonella Chionna - Lupo Editore, 2012.
He has several recordings to his credit: "Never End" with the WakeUp Gospel Project; "Adiafora", the latest album by Antonella Chionna (voice/music and lyrics), Marco Tamburini (trumpet/flugelhorn), Antonio Palazzo (piano), Camillo Pace (double bass), Max Ingrosso (drums).
But his research never stops: he is active as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. In 2006, at the Concours International pour Saxophoniste Soliste Saxiana in Paris, he received favourable reviews from both critics and jury.
Since 2013 he has been an active collaborator on the "Progetto Sequoia" with Roberto Buttus.
